How it all started...
Oak Gardens Church has a rich history that began on February 11, 2007, when 157 seekers of truth gathered with Pastor Paul Day and his family at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Duncanville, Texas. Their shared passion for a deeper understanding of salvation and a closer connection to the word of God laid the foundation for the church's journey. Driven by an authentic desire for truth and empowerment, the church's membership flourished, and its true mission emerged—to invest in the youth and become a beacon of love and outreach to the community.
In 2010, the congregation's commitment to align with God's word and grace bore fruit as they acquired their church home at 4008 S. Polk St. The initial phase of construction included the auditorium, fellowship hall, and pastor's study. Subsequently, they developed a state-of-the-art children's/youth wing in the second phase and emphasized social interactions and knowledge pursuit through the addition of a cafe and bookstore in the third phase.
To date, the church has grown to nearly 1,000 members and services that emphasize a personal relationship with our Savior. Community outreach is a central pillar of the church's identity. The church's daily commitment revolves around becoming better than they were yesterday, guided by God's inspiration and grace, and forever anchored in the courageous dream of those 57 seekers of truth who united on February 11, 2007, to fulfill God's will.
